Racing Foundation funds 54 community events with Godolphin and the Racing Post as part of National Racehorse Week calendar

18 Aug 2025

More racehorses than ever will meet the public during National Racehorse Week which takes place across the country between Saturday 23 and Sunday 31 August.

Over 50 community events, which are delivered with funding from Racing Foundation, Godolphin and the Racing Post, will take place alongside 91 yard open days offering over 11,500+ free places to the public.

These events include connecting the Pony Club with local Madrassah groups in Lancashire and Birmingham and facilitating yard visits for charities such as Mind, Tickets4Troops and Riding for the Disabled.

Over 2,000 individuals will take part in the community events with support from Racing Together.

To celebrate the launch of NRW this weekend, retired racehorse Robin is Ready has already visited young people taking part in a Dallaghio RugbyWorks summer camp, held at Rye Rugby Football Club, offering youngsters a chance to get up close with a racehorse and learn more about the sport.

Tansy Challis, Chief Executive at the Racing Foundation, said: “It’s wonderful to see the National Racehorse Week community programme brought to life at this week’s event which is a reminder of how impactful these moments of connection between people and racehorses can be. The Racing Foundation is proud to fund the calendar of community engagement events during National Racehorse Week with support from Godolphin and the Racing Post.”
